Solution...NOT PART OF THE PROBLEM

As you all know we are living in times of great change. Global warming is one of the biggest issues the world is facing right now, which is why we are all constantly looking at ways to reduce our carbon foot print. The launch of Cartridge World - Carbon Zero Racing represents a critical component in what we are striving to achieve - and that’s to be a zero carbon race team. Of course you would need to have spent recent times in a vacuum not to be aware that vehicle emissions are a huge factor in global warming and that man’s reliance on fossil fuels must ultimately come to an end.

The idea of leading the way to a greener future inspired me to enter the 2009 British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Our highly competitive appearances in the BTCC will be the perfect way to both increase public awareness in alternative fuels and technologies and to show that environmentally friendly fuelled racing is still as exciting and spectacular as ever.

Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing has a strong message to communicate and will not only help educate our race fans on how to lower their carbon impact in every facet of life - from energy efficiency to forest conservation to conscious consumerism. Even small changes such as switching off a light or refilling a printer cartridge can make a big difference; small steps like these will help maintain a low carbon economy.

The way I see it is, yeah, we burn a little extra fuel racing on Sunday, but it gives the team a platform to speak about these things and showcase the issues and solutions to everyone.

No single person can stop global warming, but by working together with companies such as EEMS, Cenex, Organic Power and co2balance then we can help play our part. We will succeed because when people unite and call for action, change is inevitable.

The HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship is a perfect platform for the team and its commercial partners to make a difference and to be seen to make a difference, not only a t the track but with a series of roadshows, schools and community initiatives we are planning for later in the year.

The Championship is contested over ten race weekends, consisting of three sprint races per meeting. The BTCC is the pinnacle of motorsport in the UK and is the second most watched form of motorsport after Formula 1. The championship receives fantastic TV coverage on ITV and various other digital and satellite channels. We as a team firmly believe that we have all the key ingredients to attract significant media attention, whilst proving that we can win the coveted BTCC Independents’ title with our carbon zero race team.

As an independent team we are totally reliant on income from our commercial alliance partners. We have created a unique race team and present a unique opportunity. We are therefore delighted to have signed a multi-year agreement with Cartridge World, the market-leading cartridge refilling retailer on the planet. Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing will be part of the 2009 BTCC.

Think About It... Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing.
